After a “day” of real estate, this was a great place to sit down and relax. Im so two sided in terms of what relaxes me. One side of me enjoys a porch, pretty greenery and quiet, while the other side of me finds being in the heart of the city to be the most relaxing thing there is. This day in particular was a “heart of the city” day and 13.5% Wine Bar catered perfectly.

Located in Hamden on a heavy traffic street my son and I got to chat it up as we set just on the inside of the bay doors. The staff was quite attentive and knowledgable.

The Wine
Generous pours and $5 happy hour specials. I was there for the wine to relax from my mentally draining day and the servers recommendations didn’t disappoint. I had the Ca’ Bianca 2012. A sweet wine (which I know I can not drink because the sugar gives me a headache, but I was willing to risk it, because what I was not in the mood for was a dry merlot. My day was bad enough) I recommend this wine if you can handle sweet and love refreshing wines.
The Eats
We had the hot wings as we needed something fast. Nothing really to talk about there, but they were satisfying. I despise “wet” wings. I like a nice balance of crunch and sauce, they delivered there without my request so that was cool and the sauce was on point.

All in all between the cool aesthetic, the long list of wine and the good music, Ill be back for sure. Great place for a girls night, so maybe that will be my next visit!
