Design: Color Drenching
Nothing about this design choice says that you have commitment issues. In fact, color drenching states β I know who I am and what I like. I am bold and I live out loud!β Or, it states β I really REAAALLY love this color.β π€·π½ββοΈ Either way, It is a really beautiful statement when executed correctly,
Color drenching is simply painting everything in a room one color. βEverythingβ being the walls, ceiling and mill work along with anything else stationary in the room (ie. built ins, radiators etc). Different sheens of the chosen color is generally the only deviation. It appears to be a trend right now, however this design choice has and will always be relevant.
This painting choice can be used to make your furniture pop or used as an extension of your monochromatic furniture allowing your accents to be the stand out of the room.
Of course you can paint a room without painting the ceilings and/or have contrasting trim, but if youβre looking to truly and unmistakably invoke a mood, color drenching is the way to go. Just be careful of what color you choose. Color, like music, plays with your mind. There is an entire psychology behind each color. For instance, orange may indeed be the color that you can not get enough of. Orange brings on feelings of creativity and uplifting. We want that, but maybe itβs better used in an office as opposed to a bedroom where you need your brain to unwind and relax. So be sure to select based on the mood you want to give in each room and not just your color of the year.
Happy creating!
